hats off to you anyways for doing these!
perhaps consider using HEVC (x265) since it's 4320x2160 - or resize to 4096x2048 if you can only use AVC/H.264 - anything larger than that becomes a pain in the butt for PCVR since you have to disable hardware decoding lest it freak out. if I understood how the upscaling works correctly, that'd involve a second re-size since it's a straight 2x, so x265 with the same CRF17 you used would be more than ideal. I guess beggars can't be choosers though.
Why are you upscaling from 1080p? You do know there's a 60 fps 1600p version, right?
